Angelina Jolie is many things - an Oscar winning actress, a doting mother to a brood of six, a newlywed and a UN ambassador - but it sounds like she's almost ready to add a new string to her already multi-talented bow. The 39-year-old star, who tied the knot with Hollywood heart-throb Brad Pitt just a couple of months ago, has opened up about her wider ambitions in an interview with US magazine, Vanity Fair. Speaking of her prolific charity work Angelina also revealed that to further the difference she makes that she'd be 'open' to a career in politics in the future.
Ange, who has worked alongside the United Nations since 2001, said: 'When you work as a humanitarian, you are conscious that politics have to be considered. Because if you really want to make an extreme change, then you have a responsibility.'
However, Angie was quick to set the record straight that it's not all that simple. She went on to say: 'But I honestly don’t know in what role I would be more useful— I am conscious of what I do for a living, and that [could] make it less possible.'
When the interviewer went on to clarify whether or not she has ambitions to take up a political position, she simply replied: 'I am open.'
We don't know about you but we'd definitely be all for seeing Ange bring her knowledge and skill to the table in a position where she can grow on the difference she has already made to the world. Who knows, maybe she'll set her sights even higher. President Angelina Jolie has a pretty nice ring to it...
